Consumers Cooperative is seeking a friendly and reliable Part-Time Deli Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and food preparation, and be committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and quality. As a Deli Associate, you will play a key role in delivering an excellent shopping experience by providing fresh, high-quality deli products and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities: 

1. **Customer Service**

   - Greet customers warmly and assist them with their deli selections.

   - Provide information on deli products, including ingredients and preparation methods.

   - Use suggestive selling techniques to enhance the customer shopping experience.

   - Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.

2. **Food Preparation and Presentation**

   - Prepare deli items, such as sandwiches, pizzas, and hot foods, according to company recipes and standards.

   - Ensure food is presented attractively and maintain fresh stock levels throughout the shift.

   - Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the highest quality products.

3. **Deli Operations**

   - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli area, including counters, display cases, and equipment.

   - Assist with stocking shelves, rotating products, and ensuring the deli area is fully stocked and well-organized.

4. **Team Collaboration**

   - Work effectively with other team members to ensure a smooth and efficient deli operation.

   - Communicate any product shortages or issues to the deli manager or supervisor.

Qualifications:

- **Experience:** Previous experience in a deli, food service, or retail environment is preferred but not required.

- **Skills:** Strong customer service skills, basic math skills for handling transactions, and good communication abilities.

- **Physical Requirements:** Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 30 pounds, and perform tasks that require reaching, bending, and stooping.

Working Conditions:

- The position requires standing for extended periods and working in a fast-paced environment.

- The deli associate must adhere to safety and sanitation standards and dress appropriately for the role, including wearing a company-approved uniform and maintaining grooming standards.
